The Ulm Dom

The cathedral in Ulm is called the Muenster.  As I mentioned before, it has the largest church spire on earth.  Its pretty impressive & a new candidate for my favorite German church.

Its a long walk up; thankfully coming down is a LOT easier!  That pack was heavy that day!

We initially weren't going to climb the steeple due to morning fog, but after a walk by the Danube and a bite of lunch, the skies cleared and we made haste for the Muenster!

Yep, we are almost at the top. Deb and the girls were already into the center "needle" thing, when they discovered it was an hour to get to the top, due to heavy congestion!  There is no viewing platform at the top, you just walk up, then walk down ... all within a spiral staircase within the square.  We had a train to catch, so it was a no-brainer not to climb here.

B&K showing how much they love to climb church steeples!

This church is simply incredible! 'Nuff said!

That looks great. I reminds me of the time I walked up the spiral steps of Lady Liberty. It took so long and we were rushed once we got to the crown to hurry along and start the long way down. Obviously not as breath taking, at least for you Bryan - Debs and I may have a different view on the how breathtaking NYC is!!
