The Girls Go Adventuring!!!

..."let me esplain. no let me sum up" (name that movie...and win a prize!!)

you've heard about kate's obsession with the train tracks. well, it didn't end with the tracks. she also has this love of the "old strassenbahn" (street train...or tram). she has been dying to go on an old strassenbahn. and the line that runs right by our home has an old train running it. but how do you try to find it...at a convenient time?

so i picked the girls up from school today and we had to run a short errand. and just then. the old train passed us by. i wondered how long it would take for that tram to make it to the end and come back? thank goodness...we are near the end going "that" way. so together, the 3 girls waited for that tram to turn around and come back to get us.

we waited 15 minutes in a light drizzle. but what is rain...during an adventure?

so i thought "we'll get on...go a few stops and come back on the next tram". and the best part...i would be putting off homeschooling for just a little longer!!!

but the girls were so very excited to get on the old tram, with the old wood seats...and insisted that we ride the tram until it brought us back home. well, as you can imagine...if we are close to the one end of the route...there's an awful lot left at the other end!

so 34 stops later...and a good hour gone by...we were back at hohenzollernplatz...ready to head home.

so, maybe not the most exciting day in germany by my standards. but i would bet that if you asked baby A and baby B...this would be at the top of their list!
