Need to go back in time!

Debbie said that I was going ahead of myself in the St Peter posting, so I need to show our trip to the Parnachklamm (gorge).

After a pretty long walk, we finally came to where the Parnach River flows out of the mountain ravine.  Once we paid at the "kasse" we were able to enter the gorge (aka the Paths of the Dead) through this gate.

All I can say is ... overwhelming. Nothing (except the Grand Canyon) is even close!  The sound of the pounding river in the gorge, the water falling from above, the moss all over ... just amazing. The pictures cannot even begin to do this place justice.

We all had to eek along a little walkway on the left side of the gorge.  Same way in and out.  Made for cramped quarters.  B&K were not too excited to be there ... they were nervous and I held them tightly as the place was slick.

Yep, its a dark picture, but the best of us that we could get.  That's us leaning against the "rail," also known as two steel cables, over the gorge.  Its about 300 feet to the top of the gorge.

Whoops, I posted the wrong picture above, here's a better one below.

After the exhausting walk into the gorge, we had to get out to be able to catch the train back to Muenchen.

Hey your not kidding. My Aunt Margaret whose kids are all grown goes on some nice trips with her girlfriends. I'm game. Let them get a little older and lets go.
