Deb and I snuck out this morning to see one of the most famous churches in Muenchen ... the church built by the Asam Brothers. It is one of the most elaborate of the Baroque churches on earth. Dieter's favorite remark about the Asam Kirche is that "when German Protestants from the North come to see this church, they simply fall over."
Its hard to imagine the ornateness of this church ... pictures don't do it justice.
The church is simply stuck like a row-home in the middle of the street.

Once inside, the level of decoration was impressive. Here is the alter.
The Asam Kirche has two floors with murals, paintings, gilded figures, etc.
