Dachau, Part 6

After the gas chambers, victims were to be moved into the larger, new crematorium area.  Snce the gas chambers were not used on a large scale (as in Auchwitz, etc), bodies from the camp were taken here as well.



This is the gate to and from the camp to the crematorium complex.

Between the camp and the crematorium complex is the small Russian Orthodox Chapel with the famous painting of Christ leading His own from the camp, either via death to Heaven or to liberation via the Allied Forces.

We couldn't get closer, as there is a gate across the front that prevents people from actually entering the chapel.

Very touching especially that it is RIGHT THERE at the Dachau site.

OK, I think that's enough of Dachau ... many more pictures, but it's hard to keep talking about this place of evil.  It is important to remember especially with genocide still in the world today.
