The official name of the town is Garmish-Partenkirchen, concocted when the two little towns on each side of the Parnach River merged, but folks just call it Garmish.
Spectacular views of the Alps! You can see the town is nestled at the foothills of the Alps. Our day was sunny, cool, with blue skies, just like I ordered it!
:)

We walked and walked ... more on that later. Here is a church that we didn't get to visit. The pilgrimage Church of St Anton's. We were too exhausted after the visit to the gorge, and the church was too far from the bahnhof.

The Alps are just ... there. It's hard to imagine living in such a beautiful town day in and day out! I wonder if the people there just get "used to" the spectacular view!
