We visited the Munich Zoo (tierpark) yesterday as past of my lab. Too cold for B&K, so they stayed home with Deb. This zoo is one of the first "geo-zoos" where they strive for natural looking areas, a more open look, vegetation from native areas, etc.
It was really interesting to see how the layout was more like a park than a zoo.
Here is the "wildkatze," or wildcat. Looked more like a fat Elmo!
This is for my buddy Kyle in PA ... a wolverine. Sorry for the blur, I had to max out both the optical and the digital zoom through the fence! They really kept us away from the fencing ... like barbed wire keeping us away from the fencing! It was cool to see the Siberian Tigers up close. A wee bit scary ... only a stream between us and the "cat."
The German name for rhino has the word "panzer," or tank, in it! You get the picture!
Bear down Chicago Bears!
