Berlin, Part 8

I know ... it is taking a while to get through Berlin, but we just saw a lot of stuff!  Heck, I'm not even to San Soucci or Lutherstadt Wittenburg yet!  Happily, we have no plans (other than Deb going to Paris) for a while, so perhaps I can forge ahead.  I think since I am not moving pictures from Debs' computer via the memory stick these might be extra-big pictures when you click on them ...

Here we are at the Reichstag, the building that was at the center of everything from the 3rd Reich to German Unification!  It is now where the German government meets.

You can see the famous glass dome that we are waiting to climb.  Whilst waiting in line, a "line-lady" informed us that since our children were 7, we could bypass the main line and go in the sneaky side entrance.  With that, it was a security check and a fast elevator to the glass dome!

As we climb the spiral ramps, we could see our reflections in the column of mirrors in the center of the dome!

We are at the top of the German government building!  With the cool air of Germany on our heads (as the top of the dome is open to symbolize the free flow of ideas in and out of the government across the country).

And so it goes on ...
