Berlin, Part 4

This is all that is left of one of the greatest train stations in Europe ... the Anhalter Bahnhof.  It was a magnificent structure, designed to impress those who came to Berlin: from the common man to heads of state.  

It was right across the street from our hotel and now it is part of a park.  




Here is the entrance to the modern Anhalter Bhf underground S-Bahn line at our hotel.

Here's the back side of the picture two above ... hopefully the 3 of us in the picture provide some frame of reference ... it truly must have been an imposing structure in its heyday!



So many things from old Germany destroyed ... the lost glory of Man!
