The land of castles and King Ludwig II. We had to drag the Walls out of bed to get the train to the Hbf and then load ourselves on the bus. Clark, our tour guide, got the whole thing off to a great start. He was a funny guy from Seattle until he was "kidnapped by a Bavarian women" years ago!
Our first stop on the bus tour was Linderhof, the only castle that Ludwig was able to see completed. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside any of the castles ... they must want us to buy the books! This castle/schloss was more of a private retreat than a magnificent castle. Lots of fountains and gardens outside to visit.
