This unfinished shaft was way too scary for words. You can see stalagtites from the ceiling, parts of collapsed walls, and the shaft goes down to ... nothing. You can't see the bottom. It's really, really, creepy.
Needless to say, the girls went to play in the mountain streams with Debbie during this trip!
The fourth picture is that of a machine-gun emplacement that guarded the rear entrance to the bunker (from the now-gone Platterhof hotel). The fifth picture is one from the WW2 era of the way UP to the Platterhof.
