On Thursday we traveled to the Documentation Center for Obersalzberg. Since this area was a haven for Hitler and his cronies, the Germans decided this center should go here.
The students all got English translation phone-things as the center was all in, well, German!
Needless to say it was difficult to see the beginning of the Nazi Party (in Munich), the rule of Hilter, and the scenes from the death camps.
There is a massive bunker underneath the center. It was part of Martin Bormann's system and was very cold! Very cold!
It was accessed by vandals for many years and there was a lot of graffiti inside; some from 1945 when the area was liberated by the Allies.
