are really cool! They are NOTHING like chain hotels in America. The owners and their families are normally working at the front desk, serving and cooking breakfast, and generally being helpful. The first hotel was in Wuerzburg and the second was in Sahlenburg, a suburb of Cuxhaven.
These places don't have elevators, but have comfortable beds, TVs (with American shows dubbed in German), and such NICE showers (after using the one at our place ... that is soooo good)!
The hoteliers are normally friendly and quite helpful to their English-speaking guests. The roms are small, but we just sleep there!
