Visit to Neuss

OK, I know that I am posting like a nut, but we go to Vienna tomorrow morning for Christmas and won't be back until Friday. I figure if I don't write it now, it will get lost in the shuffle when we get back!

So, we finally made it to Koeln to meet up with Elena and her family.  They picked us up and drove us back to their house in Neuss when Doris (Elena's mom) had it all set up for the girls to make Christmas cookies.  They worked at it for over 3 hours! More of Nanny's genes, perhaps?

Debbie and I also fell in love with Doris' "lebkuchen" that was homemade from her grandmother's original Nuernberg (the home of lebkuchen) recipe.  That's Debbie with the recipe.  Score!

Then Dr Werner Schroll came home (he's a food scientist ... so cool!) and we had raclette for dinner ... lots of fun!
The next afternoon it was back to Muenchen and the girls were able to ride in Elena's purple car!  Can you guess who loved it?
On the ICE home we hit our personal speed record for train rides.  Yep, that's about 186 mph.  Baby we were flyin'!

I feel the need for speed - love the purple car too.
